This week is a special one for food lovers, because on Friday 16th, the world comes together to mark World Food Day. The United Nations’ theme this year is “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, a reminder that food connects us: our health, our planet, our sense of culture and belonging.
I feel a little discombobulated this week. I “surrendered” my passport to get my name changed, and it is always a little unnerving when your main source of documentation is MIA. That tiny little book holds not just permission to cross borders, but a record of who we are at a given time in life.
Travel can be one of the most empowering gifts we give ourselves in midlife. It’s not just about the destination – it’s about rediscovering who we are, reigniting our confidence, and proving (mostly to ourselves!) that joy and freedom don’t have an age limit.
