Intentions, Transformations, and Travel: 2025 is the Year to Dream Big!
A day earlier than usual I am just popping into your Inbox to wish you a Happy Christmas and a very adventurous New Year, however and whether you celebrate the season!

Have you been dreaming about exploring the world, but don’t know where to begin? For many women, the idea of travelling can be both exciting and a little overwhelming. But travel isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s also about self-discovery, stepping outside your comfort zone, and experiencing life in new ways.
How are your plans for the Christmas break shaping up? Christmas for me usually means spending time with family, but this is not without its challenges, bearing in mind we live at opposite ends of the world (they are in Australia).
This week I had the first email which contained offers available now under the Black Friday banner. And what’s great, is that the company offering some fab (up to 30%) discounts is my favourite tour operator, G Adventures. I have done several tours with them, most notably an epic Bucket List visit to the Galapagos Islands (hence the photo), a 3-week tour of Peru & a fantastic trip around the highlights of Costa Rica.
I am now back from my latest adventure and can report that road tripping around Namibia, while sleeping in a roof tent was an incredible experience! The country’s vast landscapes, wildlife, and starry skies made for a truly unique camping experience.
With Halloween around the corner (had you noticed?! 😉👻), I thought I would jump on the bandwagon this week to introduce a few spooky places to visit on your travels…or travel to for the day itself.
The Caribbean has been home to some of my most memorable travel experiences, the start of some important friendships and will always hold a very fond place in my heart.
Happy World Food Day! 🌍 (for tomorrow that is!). And yes, you’re right, I am a little obsessed with food lately! Last week I shared my top tips for dining alone (if you missed it, hit reply and I’ll resend it to you).
Today I head off on my latest Namibia adventure and I can’t wait to share with you how we get on. I’ll be travelling with my partner, but we will be driving ourselves and planning to do a bit of camping along the way. If you’re not already, follow our progress via Instagram and Facebook but of course, I’ll be back in your Inbox next week with the latest instalment too!
This week marks my 55th birthday and I’m finding it hard to comprehend how life has transformed for me over the last 12 months. This time last year, I was in Turkey, enjoying a couple of the weeks sampling some of the highlights of the country, having just signed up for another dating app (this time it was Hinge).

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, for women in midlife who feel the pull to explore — not just the world, but themselves.
I’ve been travelling for over 30 years, through seasons of joy, grief, reinvention and becoming. Travel didn’t just show me new places — it helped me find my way back to myself.
Here I share honest travel stories and reflections on courage, change and second acts.
You don’t need to be brave yet. You’re welcome exactly as you are.
Try: courage, walking, grief, becoming, solo.
Sue Where Why What is a personal, lived-experience space.
I don’t accept guest posts or generic collaborations, and I only share places and stories I genuinely trust.
