Can you believe we are nearly at the end of November? Where has this year gone?

And more importantly, what are your plans for 2025?

Do they involve travel?

If so, I am here to help you make it really happen in 2025.

As in, not be one of those “dreams that you have at the beginning of the year, but life gets in the way and you end up wondering where another year went”, kind of plans.

I have certainly had plenty of those throughout the years.

But I am here as your conscience telling you that 2025 is THE year to make it happen. Because this year, I am here to hold your hand. And to make it harder NOT to do it.

Sound good so far?

So, are you ready to commit to yourself and those travel dreams next year?

Starting your travel journey can feel exciting, but it can also seem overwhelming – especially if you’ve never done it before. The good news is that you don’t have to go it alone. One of the most empowering steps you can take when something feels daunting is to join a community of like-minded, supportive individuals to encourage, inspire, and help guide you on your travels.

Today, I’m going to focus on why creating a strong travel community is so important, where to find one, and how connecting with fellow travellers, or would-be travellers can boost your confidence as you embark on this new chapter.

So, before we get to the details, let’s take a quick look at HOW a community can help you achieve your travel dreams.

  • Support and Encouragement: Stepping outside your comfort zone to travel can feel intimidating. A group of women who have either travelled themselves or are eager to start will cheer you on, share their stories, and help you feel like you’re not alone in taking that first step.
  • Sharing Tips and Advice: When you’re new to travel, it can be helpful to learn from those who’ve been there. A community of women travellers can offer tips on destinations, how to plan your trip, packing essentials, and dealing with travel challenges. You’ll gain insight that would take you much longer to discover on your own.
  • Inspiration and Motivation: Seeing what other women are doing can inspire you to chase your travel dreams. Whether it’s watching someone else’s journey unfold on social media or listening to their stories during a virtual meetup, the energy of the group can fuel your desire to explore.
  • Building Friendships: Travelling can be a deeply personal experience, but it’s also a great way to meet others who share your values and interests. Whether you’re travelling solo or with a group, connecting with like-minded women along the way often leads to lifelong friendships or even new travel companions.

But, even better, you don’t even have to go trawling the internet to find a group that suits you. Because I have just created one on Facebook and I would love for you to become one of the inaugural members of my gang!

Introducing Women Over 40 Who Love Travel – Transform Through Travel, a vibrant and supportive private community for women aged 40 and over who are passionate about travel, whether you’re a seasoned globetrotter, a dreamer planning your first adventure, or someone eager to overcome fears about travelling solo.

I believe in the power of travel to transform lives, inspire confidence, and open new possibilities. Our group is a safe space to share advice, ask questions, exchange stories, and connect with like-minded women from around the world. In this community, every journey becomes a path to personal growth, connection, friendship and discovery.

Travel is a transformative experience – especially in midlife – and when shared with a group of supportive women, it becomes even more powerful. Being part of a travel community opens doors to new perspectives, deeper connections, and incredible personal growth.

Whether you’re thinking about planning your very first trip or have been dreaming of a specific destination for years, surrounding yourself with women who understand and encourage your travel dreams is the best way to stay inspired and feel confident. You’ll have cheerleaders every step of the way!

And what’s more, I will be present within the group, to help answer your questions, support, encourage and hold your hand as you take your first tentative steps on the journey.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. The beauty of connecting with a supportive community is that you’ll grow together, learn from one another, and help each other explore the world with confidence. The world is waiting – and so is your travel tribe!

What have you got to lose?

Joining this community now, could be the catalyst for achieving those dreams, so why not head over to Facebook via THIS LINK, answer a few questions and let’s start planning your next adventure.

So, are you ready to take that first step and join a community of women who share your travel dreams? Or do have any questions about the group, you’d like me to answer before you join? Hit reply to this email to let me know or connect via your social method of choice (FacebookInstagramYouTubePinterestThreads or LinkedIn) to give me all the details.

This week, over on YouTube, we discover Reef Beach on the Isle of Lewis, a hidden paradise in Scotland that feels like a slice of the Caribbean! With stunning white sands, turquoise waters, and even an ancient iron age house (although slightly less welcoming than I’d hoped!), Reef Beach a must-see for anyone exploring the Outer Hebrides. See it for yourself now via THIS LINK.

With Black Friday almost upon us, there are lots of deals to be had. G Adventures, my favourite group tour company are still offering up to 30% discount on tours (630 discounted when I last looked!). If you are interested to see what they have on offer, then check out the sale HERE

In addition, for luggage (backpacks, daypacks and lots more besides), I choose Osprey who have some fantastic deals on over the sale season. Instead of Black Friday, they call it Green Friday, an opportunity for you to pick up an Osprey pack for less, while making a meaningful impact on the world. With 20% off a selection of outdoor, travel and everyday packs to inspire your next adventure, and 20% of net profit from those packs donated to vital conservation projects, you can shop with a purpose and truly make a difference. How good is that? Click HERE to see what they have on offer, or HERE to view their Gift Guide.

🏠 For accommodation, I use Booking.com. They have their Genius loyalty scheme which is easy to progress through the levels for better discounts and inclusions.

🚍  For tours and activities, my preferred supplier is Get Your Guide

🗺️ For multi day or week tours, check out G Adventures. I used them for trips in Costa Rica, Peru, and Galapagos.

🤞 I would never leave home without travel insurance. With Safety Wing you can take out an annual policy and pay monthly. This takes the hassle out of having to remember for us regular travellers.

🛫 For cheap flights, check out Skyscanner or join Jacks Flight Club which scans the internet for error fares (UK only).

🧳 For luggage storage on your travels, I recommend the service by Bounce.
