Why Black Friday Is the Perfect Time to Plan Your Transformational Travel Adventure

Black Friday isn’t just about snagging a bargain—it’s about saying yes to yourself. For women in midlife who are ready to rediscover their independence, reconnect with their passions, or heal through travel, it’s the perfect time to plan something truly life changing.

Airlines, tour companies, and retreat organisers release some of their biggest discounts during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That means you can save money and make your travel dreams a reality—whether it’s a solo escape to Costa Rica, a walking holiday in Spain, or a yoga retreat in Iceland.

Top Tips to Make Sure You Get the Best Black Friday Travel Deals

  • Start with Your Travel Wishlist

Before diving into the sales, make a list of your top destinations and dream experiences. It’s easy to get distracted by discounts but focusing on what truly excites you helps you spend wisely.

  • Sign Up Early for Travel Alerts

Subscribe to newsletters from your favourite airlines, tour companies, and booking platforms. Black Friday deals often launch early for subscribers on sites like Skyscanner and G Adventures.

  • Stay Flexible

Shifting your travel dates by a few days or flying midweek can unlock even bigger savings. Flexibility is key to finding the best deals.

  • Double-Check the Fine Print

Always check cancellation policies, travel restrictions, and blackout dates. A cheap deal isn’t worth it if it locks you in. Having totally rearranged our recent trip to China, the cancellation policies were a godsend!

  • Use Comparison Tools

Websites like Google Flights, Kayak, and Secret Flying make it easy to compare prices and spot hidden bargains.

Where to Find the Best Black Friday Travel Offers

  • Airlines: Look out for flash sales from major airlines such as British Airways, Emirates, and Qatar Airways.
  • Tour Companies: Many small group tour operators, including G Adventures who I have joined in Costa RicaGalapagos Islands and Peru offer up to 40% off during Black Friday.
  • Accommodation Sites: Expedia and Booking.com often run extended “Black Friday Travel Weeks” with deep discounts on stays.
  • Travel Insurance: Protect your investment with companies like Safety Wing or World Nomads, which sometimes run Black Friday promotions too.

🏠 For accommodation, I use Expedia and Booking.com primarily. They have their own loyalty schemes which is easy to progress through the levels for better discounts and inclusions.

🚍 For tours and activities, my preferred supplier is Get Your Guide

🚶‍♀️ For walking and food tours (two of my favourite things to do anywhere), I recommend Walks and Devour Tours.

🗺️ For multi day or week tours, check out G Adventures. I used them for trips in Costa Rica, Peru, and Galapagos.

🤞 I would never leave home without travel insurance. With Safety Wingyou can take out an annual policy and pay monthly. This takes the hassle out of having to remember for us regular travellers.

🛫 For cheap flights, check out Skyscanneror join Jacks Flight Clubwhich scans the internet for error fares (UK only).

🧳 For luggage storage on your travels, I recommend the service by Bounce
