INSPIRATION FOR WOMEN TRAVELLING ALONE
Last week I mentioned that I would be featured in the Mail on Sunday newspaper (only important if you are in the UK). It is a HUGE deal for me to be in another big publication and I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity. I was told by the journalist that it would be coming out on 16th March. I broadcast it among my friends and family (and here last week) so they would be as excited as me and braced to dash to the newsagents first thing that Sunday 😉.
It can’t have escaped you that last week was International Women’s Day. Well, one day of the week was but it seems to expand every year. In the UK, yesterday it was also Mother’s Day. As I never had children, I haven’t celebrated Mother’s Day properly since 1999, the year I lost my wonderful Mum.
Last week I wrote to you about my exploits while hiring a car in Gran Canaria, the Canary Islands. If you have been holding your breath for seven days wondering what happened, the good news is that we returned the vehicle safe and sound and without any extra scratches. This week I have been in the Canary islands. Gran Canaria to be exact. Unfortunately, my first few days have been marred somewhat by my experiences with hiring a car, so I thought I’d share.
The exact definition is “a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime”. The bucket in question refers to before you “kick the bucket”…or things to do before you die.
Last week I attended the Destinations: Travel and Adventure Show in London. It was my second year and once again, I went in search of inspiration, new companies, ideas, and destinations that piqued my interest.
Back in 2018, my neighbours came to me with a question. It began with:
“You know how you’re never here…?”
So, last week was my final one in Australia and what a week it was! After the triumphs of a fantastic trip to Tasmania, my final week back in Sydney did not disappoint.
Today I arrive back home from Australia after over a month with my family and friends and a fabulous Christmas and New Year break.
