Last year, I took my first steps on the Camino de Santiago—100 kilometres along the Portuguese route, from Vigo to Santiago. It was just one week, but it left a lasting impression. I walked it with my partner, Larry, and the experience was so powerful, so quietly transformational, we knew we had to return.

Easter isn’t just a time for chocolate eggs and family brunches—it can be the perfect opportunity to embark on a journey that awakens your soul.
Do you ever dream of travelling solo but find yourself held back by fears and doubts? We all carry limiting beliefs that could stop us from taking the leap into transformative travel experiences. But the truth is, these fears are just stories we’ve been told—or told ourselves. It’s time to break free!
For the last 10 years I have been part of a team organising a charity walk to help raise money for charity. Usually, I oversee the walkers as they set off and return, co-ordinating everything on the day. Hard work though it is, it is an environment I thrive in. Especially the “hosting” aspect of the event.
So, finally I am back in the real world after my Camino de Santiago adventure, and it already seems like it was over too quick. I am missing the walking and already have plans to take on another route, for longer in the future.
And so, it’s done! My training for the Camino de Santiago is complete. This last week, I have walked 60kms. Over the last month it’s over 150km. I have felt myself getting fitter and stronger with each step I take. I’m ready and up for the challenge.
