I am very excited to have my first guest post published as part of a series on the Kindness of Strangers, titled “To the man in the bar”. This one was for the excellent The Country Jumper blog.

The Country Jumper LogoIt tells the story of my first solo visit to Hawaii, not long after the death of my husband Terry. I had a chance encounter with a stranger while sitting alone at a bar. As a result, it inspired me to write this post about the sometimes overwhelming kindness of strangers.

A very big thank you to Caitlin Boylan for the opportunity to collaborate. Originally from Vermont, she’s been living globally for seven years. Travel to her is about the people as much as the places.
